Super Cheap Homemade Scrubs For Your Skin!

Looking for inexpensive body or face scrub? Why don't you just make it yourself! Homemade body scrubs are of course not as pricey as those scrubs in store and it's extremely easy to prepare. We all need scrubs to exfoliate our skin and clean the pores. The right scrubs give your skin the boost it needs to look radiant and flawless. Though exfoliation should be an integral part of skincare regime, this process of scrubbing can do more harm than good if overdone, say specialists. So make sure you don't exceed the limit ladies.

How many times should you exfoliate?
Normal skin: Exfoliate twice or thrice a week
Dry skin: Exfoliate not more than twice a week
Combination skin : Exfoliate twice a week
Oily skin: Exfoliate twice a week
Sensitive skin: Exfoliate once a week only

Make sure you don't overdo it ladies. Let's get started!

Sugar

Sugar scrubs can be used on face, body, and (especially) feet, for silky skin. You can add endless ingredients for your desired outcome, and they take under 10 minutes to make. You'll just need :

  • 1/2 cup sugar (white or brown sugar- preferably organic)
  • 1/2 cup oil (olive oil and coconut oil work great)
  • Optional: essential oils of your preference

Mix all ingredients and store in an air tight jar. Use 1 tablespoon as needed in the shower. Scrub skin with the mixture and rinse will. it will leave your skin feeling like silk.

Coffee And Coconut
Coffee is the wonder ingredient in this antioxidant packed-scrub. It not only reinvigorates your senses, but it also lightens and brightens the skin and temporarily minimizes cellulite. Can we get an Amen!? Pair it with creamy coconut oil — one of the most moisturizing natural ingredients around, you will love them! You'll need :

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground coffee
  • 1 cup coconut oil

Coffee and sugar join forces outside the mug to make this scrub that’s bound together by coconut oil. Don’t even reach for the spatula with this mixture: the warmth from your hands will melt the coconut oil like a dream.

Banana And Brown Sugar
This moisturizing, oil-free scrub gives your skin a youthful glow. Plus, it’s packed with vitamins and minerals to help keep your skin tight. You will need:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 brown bananas

Add brown sugar and brown banana chunks (they break down much easier than yellow bananas) to a bowl and mush with a spatula. To get the consistency just right, use your fingers to crush the banana bits. Bonus! You can totally lick your fingers clean!

Honey And Yogurt

If you have dry skin but need to exfoliate often, this is the body scrub for you. Yogurt has excellent cleansing properties that help clean your skin by removing dead skin cells and impurities. It also helps moisturize your skin. You will need:

  • 1 tbsp Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar

Combine the ingredients until you get a coarse paste. Cleanse your skin and apply this paste onto it.
Use your fingers to gently massage the mixture, in circular motions, on your skin.

Oatmeal Scrub

If your skin is sensitive, oatmeal is a good substitute. It is lightly exfoliating while also soothing for the skin. The olive oil adds moisture while also helping this mixture stay together and apply easily. You will need:

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup ground oatmeal or coffee grounds (the coffee is more invigorating—choose oatmeal for sensitive skin)
  • A few drops of your favorite essential oil.

Combine ingredients and store the mixture in a dry place for up to 4 weeks. To use, wet skin first, and then apply in circular motions, gently exfoliating. Rinse. If you have extra sensitive skin, just leave out the sugar.

Lemon Scrub

This is a great cleansing scrub for reducing your risk of oily skin. The olive oil helps to balance out the lemon, so your skin will be left clean but not dry. We recommend adding rosemary or grapefruit essential oil to this. Both are invigorating, stimulating, and also help keep oily skin and clogged pores in check. You will need:

  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Zest from 2 lemons
  • A couple drops of your favorite invigorating essential oil (optional)

Combine olive oil and sugar first, followed by the lemon juice and rind. Finish by adding essential oil—rosemary and grapefruit. Apply to skin in circular motions, then rinse off.

You can also substitute the sugar with salt. Oh, all the ingredients already in your kitchen? Nah, you've got to try it now!
