How to Fight Cellulite?

Sounds familiar? Yes, many of us face it, even if you're skinny. It affects about 90% of women of all ages. But as long as you know how to take care of your own health and minimize the level of fats in your body, you don't have to worry that much about it. Everyone has layers of fat under the skin anyway.

First of all, what is this thing called cellulite? Originated from a French word, 'cellule' which means small cell, cellulite is actually a persistent subcutaneous fat causing dimpling of the skin. Cellulite can be categorized into 2 types :

Fat Cellulite
Accumulates around the hips and thighs, feels hard and compact and is highly visible.

Water-retention Cellulite
Builds up along the arms and legs, and makes these areas looks heavy and swollen. This type is only visible when you press the skin.

It usually develops in the body between the ages of 6 months and 13 years old, when the body is growing. You should know that whatever you eat when you're growing up determines the level of fat within the body when you reach adulthood. People who consume a high intake of fatty fried foods as children tend to be overweight as adults, so do take extra care to moderate your children's eating habits.

Get rid of it? Oh it's quite tough you know. You'll need real hard work, together with determination and of course, money. However, working on reducing cellulite in your body would be easier than you think. Apart from going for regular anti-cellulite treatments (twice a week would be ideal), try these steps at home:

Drink a lot of water
Drinking the recommended eight glasses of water  will help the body drain out toxins. Water dilutes and flushes out unhealthy elements in the body.

Exercise an hour a day
Put in 30 minutes of exercise in the morning and 30 minutes at night. Try brisk walking around your housing area to start with.

Regulate your fat and sugar intake
Especially during dinner time, it would be better to stay off fats and sugars. Instead of deep-frying foods, try steaming your fish and vegetables with a pinch of sea salt.

Ladies, don't expect good result in just few days. It takes at least months to show you what you want to see.
Good luck!
